Her dog, Spencer, had been diagnosed with cancer and she wasn’t sure how it was going to play out. But… the news came that after they amputated a leg, he was cancer free! They were ecstatic and we discussed 2012 travel plans since it looked like he’d hang in there quite a bit longer… however around the holidays this last year, the news came back that Spencer’s cancer was back. I arranged a trip to visit for three weeks later – Spencer just spoke to me and I couldn’t *not* photograph Spencer and the family that loves him so much.

The weather kept us on our toes, but the rain held off for our shoot at their cabin in Northern Georgia. This is one of my favorite shoots in recent history for so many reasons. I couldn’t narrow down what to show for this blog, but somehow I don’t think anyone will mind, right? ;)

They were wonderful subjects and we were able to get some awesome photos to help raise awareness for them and to help find them homes! The prints are also available for purchase to raise funds for the rescue! (Note – they’re also always in need of in foster homes and volunteers!)
